چکیده
Abstract Study question Following 6thWHO (2021), we analysed the correlation between DNA fragmentation index (DFI), Human papillomavirus (HPV), and seminal parameters, highlighting slow rapid progressive motility alterations. Summary answer DFI rates parameters correlated with rapid, slow, motility. However, HPV-positivity caused loss of association What is known already HPV detection in semen samples has long opened an investigation into its influence on male infertility. Some studies indicate that can affect sperm quality DFI, while others have failed to find any correlation. With reference 2010 WHO guidelines, our latest work highlighted how positivity significantly impairs motility, morphology, immotile rate. Since 2021 guidelines included evaluation if these new other conventional could be altered by infection. design, size, duration From August December 2022, 121 were collected from partners HPV-positive women attending vitro fertilization (IVF). Every specimen underwent evaluation, analysis test. Participants/materials, setting, methods Seminal masturbation after 3-5 days sexual abstinence. The inclusion criteria as follows: no sexually transmitted infections, genetic diseases, inflammatory disorders. Sperm concentration, non-progressive sperms, both evaluated according guidelines. was assessed chromatin dispersion test (SCD), HPV-DNA performed using InnoLipa Genotyping Extra II (Fujirebio, Tokyo, Japan). Main results role chance Of tested, 60 (49.6%) 61 (50.4%) HPV-negative. showed a significant negative groups positive HPV-negative group. Conversely, significance completely lost patients. normal forms spermatozoa percentages Similar observed samples, except for form rate, which not associated In addition, same displayed absent samples. Significant associations found also derived parameter sperm, rate groups. suggest high rates, presence or absence infection, reproductive health through consistent impairment particular, distinction allows deeper understanding possible correlations Limitations, reasons caution This preliminary study characterized small number Therefore, confirmation findings requires enlargement patient cohort, taking place. Wider implications Our highlight introduction criteria, i.e. provides additional information about impact infection it. Trial registration Not applicable

متن کاملP-72: Effect of Subinguinal Varicocelectomy on Human Sperm DNA Integrity and Semen Parameters
Background: Varicocele occurs in approximately 15% to 20% of the male population and it is the most common cause of poor semen parameters. It has been demonstrated that patients with varicocele have poor chromatin packing, DNA damage and nuclear anomalies than the healthy men. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate sperm chromatin integrity and semen parameters in these patients after...
متن کاملEffects of Sperm DNA Fragmentation on Semen Parameters and ICSI Outcome Determined by an Improved SCD Test, Halosperm
Background Sperm DNA fragmentation is known as an important cause of male infertility. The influence of sperm DNA damage on reproductive potential has been subject of many studies indicating various results and remaining the subject controversial. In this study, we investigated differences of the semen parameters and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) outcome according to sperm DNA fragmen...
متن کاملCorrelation between sperm parameters and sperm DNA fragmentation in fertile and infertile men
Background: It is established that sperm DNA integrity is essential in fertilization and normal embryo and fetal development. Routine semen analysis gives an approximate evaluation of the functional competence of spermatozoa, but does not always reflect the quality of sperm DNA. Therefore, the evaluation of sperm DNA integrity, in addition to routine sperm parameters, could add further informat...
